What’s covered under vacation cancellation?

Your policy covers vacation cancellation if you have to cancel or cut short a vacation during the policy period because your pet requires immediate life-saving treatment while you're away or up to seven (7) days before you leave, we’ll reimburse you up to $1,000 per year for any non-refundable travel or accommodation costs.


What isn’t covered under vacation cancellation?

We will not reimburse you for:

  • Any cost of vacation or travel insurance

  • Any costs related to a vacation booked less than twenty-eight (28) days before the trip

  • Any injury or illness that first occurs or shows clinical signs more than seven (7) days before you leave

  • Any costs related to a vacation that was canceled due to an injury or illness that isn’t covered by your policy


How do I submit a claim for vacation cancellation?

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Download the claim form for vacation cancellation attached to this article.

  • Review the required information carefully.

  • Get signed confirmation of your pet’s condition from your veterinarian, including all the information required in the boarding fees claim form.

  • Submit a claim that includes the completed death from injury or illness claim form, plus signed receipts that show your non-refundable travel or accommodation costs.
