What’s covered under loss due to theft or straying?

What isn’t covered under loss due to theft or straying?
Your policy doesn’t cover loss due to theft or straying if you or the person watching your pet willingly gives it away, even if led to do so under false pretenses
How is my payout calculated?
Your reimbursement depends on whether or not you have an original receipt that proves how much you paid for your pet:
If you have an original receipt from the purchase of your pet:
We’ll reimburse you up to $1,000 of the purchase price.
If you don’t have an original receipt from the purchase of your pet:
We’ll reimburse you whichever is lower: the current local Humane Society adoption fee for the species of pet named on the declarations page or $150.00. (The declarations page is automatically filled out for you — there’s nothing you need to do.)
What happens if my pet is found or returned?
You have to repay the full amount you were paid out under this benefit.
